2 Weeks Old!

Boy does time fly by when your having fun!! Look at my sweet Owen at a whopping 2 weeks old!! Me & my little buddy!

Bath Time!!

Owen's cord fell off late Sunday night or early Monday morning. So, tonight was his first time having a "real" bath. Owen hates when I take his clothes off and really hates when he has to get a bath. So, we were hoping that being able to sit him in the warm water would help out with the bath situation. I think it did a little but boy did he scream as soon as I took him out of the water to dry him off. As a matter of fact he didn't quit screaming until he was dressed and swaddled in a blanket! Stephen was in the ocean again so our schedule is a little wacky with just me and both boys. I put Little Stephen to bed before I even had the opportunity to wash Owen. We'll get this all ironed out sooner or later!

Good Night Brother... He really doesn't know what to think of all this!

2 Week Check-Up...

It is almost impossible to think that it has been 1 day shy of 2 weeks since Owen entered our lives. I have no clue how I ever made it without him! Today (Monday) Owen and I both had our 2 week check-up appointments. I am still not really supposed to be driving so Aunt Meg and Grace took us to our appointments since Stephen had to work.
Owen now weighs 8 pounds 9 ounces and is doing perfect!! He gained 8 whole ounces in one week! He goes again in 2 more weeks and there is no telling what he'll weigh then!

I am happy to announce that MOST of my swelling is finally going down! Just to give some of you an idea of just how much fluid I had; I lost 25 pounds in one week!!

Boy did we have the visitors in the hospital! Owen is a loved little baby already! We tried to snap pictures of everyone but obviously missed a few in the midst of everything!

More Snow!!

Finally a snow day that Daddy actually had off! Stephen, Jordan, and Stephen Jr. had fun in the snow over the weekend. Little Stephen could not understand why Owen couldn't come out and play!

One Week Old...

Time really does fly by!! I kept thinking the whole time I was pregnant that those long 9 months would never end. Now, that has all passed and Owen in already 1 week old. He is so sweet and I never could of prepared myself for such a great feeling! He is simply precious...

The Day Has Finally Arrived!!

I had a doctors appointment Monday, February 8th for my 40th week check-up. When I got there my blood pressure was really high and Dr. Boehling was concerned with the size of the baby. So, he decided to do an ultrasound. He predicted that the baby would weigh 8 pounds and 13 ounces. He & I both agreed it was time to have this baby!! Luckily for me Megan and Grace met me there and got to see the ultrasound with me! How fun that was... So, our plan was for me to go home get everything together and check into the hospital at 5:00 pm. Excited as can be I rushed home to get everything done for the big day! My first stop was by daycare so I could get little Stephen so he and I could spend the day together. He was ecstatic to hear that our baby would be arriving soon!! Well, Stephen and I checked in the hospital and something was inserted to help me thin out.. Well, when I was checked at 7:30 am the next day we had made no progress. So, I was put on pit at 8:00 am. Needless to say our day was very intense. Stephen did not leave my side the whole time... bless his heart! I was 1 cm when I went in and at 7:00 ish that night I was a whopping 2 cm. So, Dr. Boehling suggested we do a C-Section and I was all for it. Eleven hours of pit is NO FUN... So, at 8:16 pm Owen Grady Spruill entered this world! Stephen and I knew it was a boy the whole time but it was great to finally lay my eyes on my precious gift from God.

Owen Grady Spruill

After quite a long day Owen finally decided to grace our presence Tuesday, February 9th @ 8:16 pm. Owen weighed 8 pounds and 7 ounces and was 21 1/2 inches long. He was a big boy!! I must say that the nine months of pregnancy was well worth it! I can't imagine my life without Owen! He is such a good baby and we all love him very much!! I'll post more pictures when I get a little more time! Owen is so lucky to have such a great Daddy!
